NewTree

How can we help?

Common questions about using NewTree. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, get in touch and we’ll answer directly.

Account & sign in

  • How do I create an account?

Download NewTree on iOS or Android, tap Sign up, and register with your email, name, and date of birth. We'll send a verification link to your email — your account is active once you click it.

  • I didn't get the verification email.

Check your spam folder first. If it isn't there, request a new link from the forgot password screen. If it still doesn't arrive, email us and we'll verify your address manually.

  • I forgot my password.

Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we'll send a reset link to your registered email.

  • How do I delete my account?

Email hello@newtree.app from the address you signed up with and we'll remove your account within 30 days. RSVPs, reviews, and reports may be retained where required for safety or legal reasons.

  • Why do I have to provide my date of birth?

Hosts can set age requirements on their events. We use your date of birth to enforce those filters at RSVP. It is never shown on your profile.

Finding & attending events

  • Where is the app available?

NewTree launches in the Tampa Bay area first — St. Pete, Clearwater, and Tampa. If you're outside those cities you can still sign up, but the feed will be quiet until we expand. Join the waitlist on the homepage to hear when we're in your area.

  • Why are events limited to 10 miles around me?

The MVP shows events within a 10 mile radius of your location so the feed stays local. A wider radius is planned for a future update.

  • How do I see events on a map?

Switch to the Map tab to see nearby events as pins. Tap a pin for a quick preview, or tap through to the full event.

  • How do I RSVP?

Open the event and tap RSVP. You'll get a confirmation, and the host will see you in their attendee list. You can cancel from your profile any time.

  • Why can't I RSVP to this event?

Some events have age or gender filters set by the host. If your profile doesn't match, the RSVP button is disabled. Filters are shown on the event page so you know why.

  • I don't see an event I saw yesterday.

Events automatically drop off the feed 7 days after they're posted. Hosts can also remove or update their events at any time.

  • When can I leave a review?

Reviews open after the event date. Give the business a star rating and an optional written review from the event page.

Hosting events

  • Can I post events as an individual?

Not in this version. The first release of NewTree is business only. Individual hosting is on the roadmap for the next version.

  • How do I list my business?

Apply from the Partner page. Tell us your business name, category, and location, then connect your TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram so your existing videos can embed in your posts. We review applications within 1 to 2 business days and email you when you're approved.

  • How do I post an event?

From your business profile, tap Create event. Add the title, date, location, and medias.

  • Is there a limit on how often I can post?

One event per category per day. This keeps the feed fresh and prevents any one business from dominating the local feed.

  • How long do my posts stay live?

Event posts stay live for 7 days from the date they're posted, after which they expire automatically.

Notifications

  • What notifications will I get?

By default you'll receive a confirmation when you RSVP and a reminder 24 hours before an event you're attending. Hosts also receive a notification when someone RSVPs to their event.

  • How do I turn off notifications?

Manage permissions in your device settings under iOS or Android. We don't override your system settings.

Safety & reporting

  • How do I report an event, user, or business?

Every event, profile, and business page has a Report option in the menu. Reports go to the moderation team and are reviewed promptly.

  • Someone is harassing me on the app.

Block the user from their profile, then report the conversation. For urgent safety concerns, email hello@newtree.app with details and we'll prioritise it.

  • How are events moderated?

New posts run through automated checks for rate limits, duplicates, and prohibited content. Reported posts are reviewed by a human admin and removed if they break the rules.

  • Is verification real?

Business profiles are reviewed by our team before they can post. A verified badge means we've confirmed the business is who they say they are, not that we endorse any particular event.

Privacy & data

  • How is my location used?

Your precise location is used on your device to calculate which events are within 10 miles. Your exact location is never shared with hosts or other users.

  • Can I download my data?

Yes. Email hello@newtree.app from your registered address and we'll send you a copy within 30 days.

  • Where can I read the full privacy policy?

See the Privacy link in the footer for the full policy on what we collect, how it's used, and your rights.
